Calvin Thomas is a singer-songwriter currently in Maryland and loves to make music. He is also a producer, working with DAWs such as Reaper, Cubase 8, and Presonus Studio One to record pre-production demos.
Calvin began playing music at a young age. Although he played some piano and some drums as a kid, it was guitar (both acoustic and electric) that set the stage for his musical career. When he turned 13, his dad bought him his first guitar and the journey began.
Calvin started doing venues after high school (around 2010) and, with his acoustic guitar, developed a sound similar to James Taylor, Jim Croce, Andrew White, and Andy Mckee. He soon started a Youtube channel around the same time and recorded covers of rock, pop, and more. Following the startup of his Youtube channel, he started a Facebook group, and a Soundcloud account, which all helped promote his covers and soon, his originals.
Calvin has played a number of exciting venues. To mention a few, he played a wedding anniversary at The W Hotel and another wedding anniversary at The Mansion on O Street (both of these are located in Washington DC); and, he also played the One World Observatory in New York City (once in December 2016 and again in Jan 2017).
In 2015, with a plethora of social media already under his belt as well as performing expertise, Calvin ventured into live streaming, with Periscope being the main live stream medium for his music. He does a show on Periscope roughly 2-3 times a week, entertaining fans from many countries, such as the US, Sweden, and Japan. Because of this, he has met and performed with musicians from Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey and has also collaborated with musicians online from different countries, recording cover songs and assisting them with their original songs.
He is currently working on an album October Sky, filled with 7 heartfelt and introspective tunes. Some of those tunes include "Memories", "Skylights", and "Meet Again". Click on the link below to hear the Memories and Skylights demos, and the single Meet Again. Keep your eyes peeled for the album!
